Kristen Parker launched her career in communication, design, and marketing while pursuing her bachelor’s degree at Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. There, she co-founded Native Adventures, a company designed to enhance Native American youth through outdoor recreation. Kristen continued to pave her path in the arena by working in Kampala, Uganda as a Communications Specialist with SIMBA Group. She became an entrepreneur in 2020, conceptualizing and operating Bullhead Designs, a graphic design company, which led her to working in Indian Country as a graphic designer and communications specialist.
Kristen is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Technical Communications to further equip herself with cutting-edge tools and methodologies in the field, while expanding her network globally. Outside of school and working on her career, she enjoys spending time in the natural world with her two akitas and or tending to her garden and plants where she finds strength in simplicity.
As a Native American woman from the Navajo Nation, Kristen resonates with GRID’s purpose of equity, inclusion, and environmental justice for all, as she witnesses the disadvantages her people face. While she recognizes the impact she has already made in the world, Kristen is excited about the future influence she will contribute and the change she will have in her community.
