Yannick Smits

Yannick Smits is a Senior Research Chemist at Symeres, with experience dating back to September 2018. Initially serving as a Research Chemist in the Process Research branch, Yannick specializes in developing greener and more cost-effective synthesis methods for intriguing active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Additionally, as a Research Chemist in the Medicinal Chemistry division, focus is placed on small-scale hit-to-lead optimization for new drug discovery. Prior roles include an internship at Symeres in early 2018, working on an innovation project in Medicinal Chemistry, and contributing to the ReSolve Project during an internship at Wageningen Food & Biobased Research from September 2017 to February 2018. Yannick holds a degree from HAN University of Applied Sciences, attained in 2018.
