David Tashima

David Tashima is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in engineering and management across multiple financial institutions. Currently serving as the Director of Enterprise Platforms at Symetra since September 2025, Tashima previously held roles as a Senior Engineering Manager and Engineering Manager at Guideline, where leadership encompassed two teams handling financial transactions and asset tracking. At Capital One, Tashima progressed from Software Manager, overseeing transaction processing and system scalability, to Senior Manager, managing the replatforming of applications to AWS. Tashima's career includes positions at BlueTarp Financial and Bank of America, focusing on transaction processing, fraud analytics, and system design. Tashima holds a Master's degree in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Washington and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Pomona College.
