Jamal Bodey-Burks

Jamal Bodey-Burks has over a decade of experience in information security, currently serving as Chief Information Security Officer at Symetra since July 2012, with progressive roles culminating in leadership positions. Responsibilities at Symetra include strengthening the IT SOX control program and serving as the key contact for IT Audit issues, alongside prior experience in SOX control testing as an IT Auditor II. Earlier career experience includes managerial roles at Yokes Fresh Market, where Jamal oversaw over 100 employees and successfully reduced spoilage in the Natural Food Department, as well as an accounting internship focused on performance reporting and financial restructuring at Family Home Care & Hospice. Jamal holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Management Information Systems from Eastern Washington University.
