Kara Fiechtner

Kara Fiechtner has extensive work experience in various roles within the IT and project management fields. Kara is currently the VP of IT Infrastructure & Operations at Symetra, where they are responsible for delivering infrastructure and operations services across the enterprise. Prior to this, Kara worked at Alvarez & Marsal as the IT Chief of Staff and HRIS Director, where they implemented strategic changes and optimized analytics for effective management. Kara also served as a Senior IT Project Manager at the same company, partnering with business leaders to deliver IT solutions on-time and on-budget. Before joining Alvarez & Marsal, Kara worked at JPMorgan Chase as an IT Project Manager, overseeing complex projects including telephony, architecture, cybersecurity, and data conversions. Kara also had managerial roles at SCC Soft Computer and Jabil, where they successfully managed teams and increased productivity. Kara began their career as a Technical Writer at Jabil and Onyx Software, gaining experience in technical writing and product development. In addition to their professional experience, Kara also volunteered with the Peace Corps in East Timor, collaborating with locals and an NGO to enhance organic coffee and vanilla bean yields for local farmers. Kara is skilled in vendor management, project management, and IT strategy development.

Kara Fiechtner has studied engineering at the University of Washington. In addition, they hold certifications as a Certified Scrum Master and Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute.
