Matei Rusu

Matei Rusu has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Matei started their career as a Researcher at Tampere University of Technology in 2002 and worked there until 2006. Matei then joined Modulight, Inc. as an Application Engineer, where they focused on providing value-added solutions to optical applications, until 2009.

In 2009, Matei joined Fianium Inc. as an Optical Scientist, later transitioning to the role of Production Manager. Matei was responsible for maintaining and expanding the production processes for fiber laser products, ensuring key issues were addressed properly. As Manufacturing Manager, they coordinated efforts between the Purchasing, Production, and Product Engineering Teams.

In 2018, Matei joined NKT Photonics as a Production and Site Manager, overseeing production operations until 2020. Matei then took on the role of Manufacturing Engineering Manager, responsible for managing manufacturing engineering activities.

Most recently, in 2021, Matei joined Symetrica as an Operations Manager, and quickly moved up to the role of Global Operations Director in 2022.

Matei Rusu earned their PhD in Fibre lasers from Tampere University of Technology from 2003 to 2006.
