Dan Bach Kristensen

Scientific Director at Symphogen

Dan Bach Kristensen has over 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Dan Bach started their career as a research associate at Hiroshima University in 1997 and also worked as a research scientist and project leader at Japan Science & Technology Corporation. In 2001, they joined MDS Proteomics and later moved to MDS Denmark in 2003 as a senior scientist. From 2004 to 2008, they served as a principal scientist at Maxygen, where they were responsible for developing and implementing analytical methods for protein drug products. Dan Bach then joined Takeda in 2008 as a senior pharmaceutical scientist, focusing on supporting late-stage development of biopharmaceutical products. Currently, they are the principal scientist at Symphogen, leading the MS lab and overseeing the characterization of cancer and immuno-oncology targets.

Dan Bach Kristensen completed their high school education at Frederiksværk Gymnasium from 1985 to 1988. Dan Bach then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Master of Science in Biology, specializing in protein chemistry, at Aarhus University from 1988 to 1996. Finally, they obtained their Ph.D. in Biology with a focus on protein chemistry from Hiroshima University from 1996 to 2000.
