Ashok Shrivastava is the Advisor at Synapse Partners. Ashok has also worked with the University of Colorado Foundation, Intuit, Stanford University, and the University of Colorado Boulder. Ashok was the Vice Chair Executive Committee from June 2013 to April 2022 and was responsible for advising the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Colorado Boulder, advising the dean and the college leadership team on college programs and policies, and encouraging resource development through advocacy for state and federal funding. From February 2013 to September 2017, they were the VP of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence & Chief Data Scientist at Verizon where they had P&L responsibilities for data and artificial intelligence products. Their responsibilities included product management, design, development, deployment, delivery, large-scale machine learning and AI algorithms, go-to-market strategy, and sales of products based on big data and AI. Ashok also developed and deployed Verizon's Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Platform with global deployments. From May 2012 to January 2018, they were the Editor-in-Chief of the AIAA Journal of Aerospace Information Systems.
Ashok Shrivastava earned their Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder. Ashok then went on to study Complexity Theory at the Santa Fe Institute.
