Raffael Marty is the current Advisor at Synapse Partners. Before that, they were the Chief Research and Intelligence Officer at Forcepoint from January 2018 to May 2021. Raffael was responsible for the global team delivering security research across all product lines, issuing real-time threat intelligence, and conducting behavioral research for the world’s first human centric security platform. Some of their accomplishments include overseeing a world-wide team of security researchers, analysts, data scientists, engineers, and counter intelligence experts to define and deliver on behavioral roadmap for all security products from CASB to DLP, NGWF, SWG, and UEBA. Raffael also managed and published security research and threat intelligence for product portfolio, including the development and operation of the cloud infrastructures and world-wide customer support. In addition, they provided security strategy, research, architecture, and M&A priorities across all product roadmaps, enabling ZTNA, SASE, insider threat, and data protection approaches. Raffael also transitioned Forcepoint’s security lab into an analytics driven research and intelligence department that drives the product roadmaps along predictive and proactive detection (and prevention) capabilities. Furthermore, they stood up human intelligence team including domain experts from counter intelligence and psychology backgrounds to collaborate with traditional data science and artificial intelligence experts to detect malicious activity left of breach. Lastly, they defined use-case roadmap for new insider threat product and established research and protection delivery. Raffael Marty has filed a dozen patents and published thought leadership content across human context, behavioral security intelligence, and privacy.
Raffael Marty has a Masters in Computer Science from ETH Zürich. Raffael also has certification from IBM in IT Security Methodology Certification, (ISC)² in Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), SANS Institute in Certified Intrusion Analytics (GCIA), and Pragmatic Institute in Certified Product Manager.
