Dora Farkas, Ph.D. has a wealth of professional experience. Dora began their career in 1996 as a Research Assistant at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), studying the crystallization of cloud particles with Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy to analyze phase change of upper atmospheric clouds. In 1998, they worked as a Research Assistant at the Planck Institute, characterizing Raman spectroscopy signals of water and sulfuric acid droplets under atmospheric conditions. That same year, they returned to MIT as a Graduate Student, where they optimized the parameters for culturing primary rat hepatocytes in collagen gel sandwiches, and also served as a Teaching Assistant. In 2004, they returned to MIT as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, where they investigated the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic interactions between prescription drugs and natural products. In 2010, they began working as a Senior Scientist at the Abbott Bioresearch Center, and in 2013 they moved to the AbbVie Bioresearch Center in the same role. In 2014, they began working at Evidera as a Market Access Writer, and concurrently founded www.FinishYourThesis.com, a community site that has helped thousands of graduate students worldwide finish their Masters and PhD degrees since 2009. In 2020, they began working at Sync with Connex as both an Operations Manager and a Marketing Manager. Her skills include pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic data analysis, mammalian cell culture, liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, protein separation and identification utilizing gel electrophoresis and LC/MS/MS.

Dora Farkas, Ph.D. began their educational journey at Stuyvesant High School, where they obtained their High School Diploma. Dora then attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they earned their Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1998. Dora continued their studies at MIT, obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy in Toxicology in 2004. Finally, they earned their PhD in Biological Engineering from MIT in 2004. In addition, they obtained a Blue Ocean Strategy certification from Blue Ocean Strategy | Shift | Leadership in November 2020.
