Principal Firmware Engineer at Synchron

Evan Hosseini has extensive work experience in firmware engineering, specifically in the medical device industry. Evan currently holds the position of Principal Firmware Engineer at Synchron, starting in 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Medtronic as a Principal Firmware Engineer from 2021 to 2023, where they contributed to the design of the Illumisite product, focusing on the electromagnetic navigation subsystem.

Before joining Medtronic, Hosseini worked at Boston Scientific as a Senior Software Engineer from 2019 to 2021, where they specialized in firmware design for implantable cardiac rhythm management devices. Evan also played a role in test development and collaborated with cross-functional teams.

From 2017 to 2019, Hosseini worked at Multi-Tech Systems, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer. Here, they gained experience in software implementation for a low power IoT wireless networking protocol called LoRaWAN.

At the start of their career, Hosseini worked at GE Healthcare, starting as a Hardware Engineer from 2011 to 2014. Evan designed circuit boards and firmware for premium tier ultrasound scanners, focusing on beam formation and signal processing. Evan later transitioned to the role of Lead Software Engineer from 2014 to 2017, working on next-generation ultrasound software designs.

Evan Hosseini completed their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at the University of Minnesota from 2006 to 2010. Evan then pursued further education and obtained their Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee between 2011 and 2015.

In addition to their formal education, Evan has also obtained various certifications. Evan completed courses in Medical Neuroscience, Introductory Human Physiology, Software Security, Programming Cloud Services for Android Handheld Systems, and Machine Learning through Coursera. Evan obtained the certifications for these courses at different times, with the most recent being Medical Neuroscience in January 2020.
