Alina Vlad has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research. Alina started their career in 2001 as an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Oradea, Faculty of Sciences, Physics Department. In 2003, they joined the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems as a Doctoral Student, where they stayed until 2007. Following their doctoral studies, Alina worked as a Research Scientist and then as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems from 2008 until 2010. Their most recent role was as a Scientist at Synchrotron SOLEIL, a position they have held since 2010.

Alina Vlad pursued their education at the University of Oradea, Faculty of Sciences. From 1997 to 2001, they completed their undergraduate studies and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Physics - Chemistry. Following this, they continued their academic journey and enrolled in the same institution for a Master's degree in Biophysics, which they completed from 2001 to 2002.
