Robert Nordness M.D., Mph

Robert Nordness MD MPH has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in the field of safety and pharmacovigilance. Robert worked as the VP of Safety and Pharmacovigilance at Syndax Pharmaceuticals from 2018 to the present. Prior to this, they served as the Executive Director of Pharmacovigilance Operations at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, where they were responsible for global regulatory compliance and overseeing case processing activities. Before that, they were a Pharmacovigilance and Risk Management Physician at Boehringer Ingelheim, where they were the Medical Director for PV/RM activities for the cardiovascular portfolio team. Robert also worked at Pfizer, holding various positions including Regulatory Analysis, Documentation and Submission Management, Business Unit Head, and Safety and Risk Management Lead. Additionally, they have experience in the US Navy, where they served as the Officer in Charge at the Naval Undersea Medical Institute.

Robert Nordness MD MPH completed their education as follows:

- Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology in 1985.

- Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1990.

- Residency in Emergency Medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center from 1990 to 1993.

- Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine and Radiation Health training at the Navy Undersea Medical Institute from 1995 to 1996.

- MPH and Residency in Occupational and Environmental Medicine from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health from 2001 to 2003.

Robert also obtained multiple board certifications, including:

- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine from the American Board of Emergency Medicine in 1995.

- Board Certification in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine from the American Board of Preventive Medicine in 2001.

- Board Certification in Occupational and Environmental Medicine from the American Board of Preventive Medicine in 2004.
