Torsten Madsen

Chief Medical Officer at Syndesi Therapeutics

Torsten has over 20 years of experience in both clinical and basic CNS research, and has spent the last 12 years in CNS drug development in both pharma and biotech companies. Prior to joining Syndesi, he was the Chief Medical Officer at Naurex and later at Aptinyx, where he was part of the founding management team. Prior to that, Torsten worked at H. Lundbeck in Denmark and in the US, holding various senior positions including leading the team behind the clinical development and registration of the anti-depressant vortioxetine, approved in the US in 2013. He earned his MD and PhD from Copenhagen University with clinical training in psychiatry and general medicine. Torsten also held a postdoc position at Yale, with research interests in neural and synaptic plasticity.
