Ben Lakey

Ben Lakey has a diverse work experience in various industries. Ben is the Co-Founder and CEO of Syndi Health, a healthcare company that aims to optimize the health and wellbeing of employees. Ben is also an Enterprise Fellow at the Royal Academy of Engineering, where they receive tailored support and mentoring for high-tech company leadership. In addition, they are a Limited Partner at CapitalX, an early-stage venture capital firm, and an Angel Investor at MindMed, a company focused on psychedelic medicines. Previously, Ben co-founded Mitt Wearables, a company that develops affordable prosthetic bionic limbs, and served as the Managing Director of Medesent LTD. Ben also has experience as a Director at Lakey Financial Inc. and as a Co-Founder at Revive Controls. Ben completed a Masters of Research in Bioengineering at Imperial College London, specializing in medical device design and entrepreneurship. Prior to that, they worked as a Project Coordinator at PCL Industrial Management Inc.

Ben Lakey has a diverse education history. In 2017, they earned a Distinction Award in Master of Research, Medical Device Design and Entrepreneurship from Imperial College London, specializing in bioengineering and biomedical engineering. In 2019, they pursued further education at Cambridge Judge Business School, completing a program called Ignite. Prior to that, from 2010 to 2015, Ben studied mechanical engineering at the University of Alberta, obtaining a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. Ben completed their high school education at Strathcona Composite High School from 2008 to 2010. In addition to their formal education, Ben has obtained certifications including the Fundamentals of Engineering (Mechanical) from NCEES in 2016, Engineer in Training from The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) in 2015, and the Construction Safety Training System (CSTS-09) from the Alberta Construction Safety Association in 2012.
