Nuredin Kemal is a Project Manager in Synergos Ethiopia. Synergos is a global organization helping solve complex issues around the world by advancing bridging leadership, which builds trust and collective action. He leads a new project called Improving the Lives and Livelihoods of Smallholder Farmers through Horticultural Commercialization Cluster Approach. In addition, he is responsible for managing and coordinating project activities, from substantive points of view, applying strategic planning and systematic coordination of project activities and project areas. In addition, he managers day-to-day project implementation and overall coordination of project outcomes and Ensure proper professional relationships with community leaders, local NGOs and other community-based organizations.
Before joining Synergos in 2021, Nuredin served as a Senior Director of South Nations Nationalities and Peoples Region (SNNPR) at the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA) Regional Office, as Director for ATA SNNP Regional Office, and Head of the SNNP Regional Bureau of Marketing and Cooperative. He has also served as Deputy Head of SNNP Regional Bureau of Agriculture. In addition, he has worked as a Head Office of Agriculture and Rural Development; Head, Department of Food Security and Disaster Prevention and preparedness in Halaba Zone. He has also served as a board chairman of Halaba Zone Omo Micro Finance Institution.
Nuredin has served for over 17 years in the areas of agriculture, agribusiness, food security, livelihoods, cooperatives, rural land administration, and emergency responses for poverty reduction. His wide-ranging experience includes facilitating the formulation of strategy for the sector; designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating programs that impact smallholder farmers.
Nuredin received his MA Degree in Development Economics from Yeungnam University Republic of South Korea. He obtained his BA in Cooperative Business Management from Hawassa University and Diploma in General Agriculture from Jimma University College of Agriculture, Ethiopia.
