Rand Schleusener

Dr. Schleusener is a co-founder and former chief surgical officer of the Synergy Health Partners legacy company, Synergy Surgicalists. Prior to that he was the president of Black Hills Orthopedic and Spine Center located in Rapid City, South Dakota.

A highly regarded orthopedic surgeon with a focus on spine surgery. Dr. Schleusener is a natural leader. He has taken care of patients in the emergency department for more than 20 years. This experience provides Dr. Schleusener with a unique understanding of the daily experience of a surgicalist. Dr. Schleusener graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1981 after a successful career on the Cornhusker football team. After completion of medical school at the University of Nebraska, he completed residency training in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas.

This was followed by a spine surgery fellowship at State University of New York Medical Center in Syracuse, New York. Dr. Schleusener served as an assistant professor in Orthopedics at the University of Utah Medical Center for five years before leaving Salt Lake for private practice. He received his MBA from the University of Tennessee Physician Executive MBA program.
