Nick Pivonka has extensive experience in product management and marketing. Nick is currently serving as the Vice President of Product Management at Synexis since March 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Zep Inc. as the Senior Director of Product Management and Marketing from April 2021 to February 2023. In this role, they successfully led a simplification initiative that resulted in a 40% reduction in SKU and manufactured formula portfolio.
Before Zep Inc., Pivonka held various roles at Georgia-Pacific LLC. From March 2018 to April 2021, they served as the Director of Innovation and Product Management, leading cross-functional venture teams and establishing new lines of business with unique competitive positions. From February 2013 to March 2018, they served as the Director of Product Portfolio, where they developed skin care and air care growth strategies and led the company's response to FDA rulemaking. Prior to that, Pivonka held the position of Director of Research and Development from April 2011 to May 2013, where they contributed to the re-launch of the skin care business with $10MM in new revenue and created a pipeline of new product initiatives.
Pivonka also has a strong background in research and development. Nick worked at Clorox from April 2010 to April 2011 as the Group Manager - Discovery and Innovation, leading a research and development group and collaborating with marketing to create new product development projects. From June 2007 to March 2010, they served as the Group Manager - Research and Development, overseeing cross-functional development teams and managing a product development team for established Clorox home cleaning product lines.
Pivonka began their career at the University of California, Berkeley as a Graduate Student Researcher from 1997 to 2002.
Nick Pivonka pursued their education at the University of California, Berkeley, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Physical Chemistry from 1997 to 2002. Prior to their doctoral studies, they completed their undergraduate degree at The University of Kansas from 1992 to 1996, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemistry.
