Wenqing Yao

Wenqing Yao has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Their most recent role is as the Co-Founder of Synnovation Therapeutics, a position they have held since October 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Incyte for nearly two decades, starting in February 2002 as the Executive Vice President and Head of Discovery Chemistry until August 2021. Before joining Incyte, Wenqing served as a Principal Research Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry at DuPont Pharmaceuticals/Bristol Myers Squibb from October 1996 to February 2002. They also gained experience as a Research Fellow at the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at Penn from March 1990 to September 1991. Additionally, Wenqing worked as a Research Associate at the Basel Institute for Immunology from 1989 to 1990 and as a Visiting Fellow at the University of Patras from October 1988 to October 1989.

Wenqing Yao has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Xuzhou Normal College. They also hold a Master of Science degree in Organometallic Chemistry from Nankai University. Additionally, Yao has completed a Ph.D. in Organic/Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania.
