Aart de Geus is the Executive Chair and Founder of Synopsys Inc, a position held since 2024 after serving as Chairman and CEO from 1986 to 2024. Since co-founding Synopsys, Aart has transformed the company into a global leader in high-tech innovations, particularly in chip design and software security. Aart is recognized as a leading expert in logic synthesis and simulation, frequently keynoting major electronics and design automation conferences. Aart holds an honorary PhD from the University of Glasgow and a PhD in Electronic Design Automation from Southern Methodist University, alongside a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from EPFL. Aart has received numerous awards, including Electronic Business Magazine's "CEO of the Year" and the IEEE Robert N. Noyce Medal.
