Carlos Basto is currently a Principal R&D Architect at Synopsys, where they lead the architecture and design of the ARC HS processor, focusing on micro-architecture and implementation. Previously, as a Sr. Staff Hardware Architect at Synopsys, they managed a multi-site project, translating marketing requirements into high-quality implementations for the ARC EM processor. With experience at NXP Semiconductors, Carlos contributed to the design and verification of MIPS processors and led the development of the award-winning TriMedia VLIW media processor. They hold a Master's degree in Engineering Management and Leadership from Santa Clara University.
