Jan Kaiser is currently a Staff R&D Engineer at Synopsys, where they focus on performance improvements for advanced chip design flows. They hold a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, with their research encompassing topics such as beyond-Moore computing and hardware acceleration for machine learning. Prior experiences include roles as a Research Affiliate at Berkeley Lab, a Technical Lead for the NSF's Innovation Corps, and co-founding Ludwig Computing to commercialize probabilistic computing research. Jan has also served as a Teaching Assistant and a Research Intern, contributing to multiple projects that enhance understanding in fields like neuromorphic computing and thermal transport.
