Jan Kaiser is a Staff R&D Engineer at Synopsys, where they drive performance improvements in chip design. They hold a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a thesis on beyond-Moore computing utilizing spintronic nanodevices. Jan has experience as a research affiliate at Berkeley Lab and has co-founded Ludwig Computing to commercialize probabilistic computing research. They have also served as a Technical Lead for the NSF’s Innovation Corps, interviewing over 100 potential customers to identify industry challenges. Prior positions include research roles at IBM, Purdue University, and the Fraunhofer Institute.
