Luca Amaru is an accomplished researcher and engineer with extensive experience in electronic engineering and research and development. At EPFL, Luca served as a Doctoral Researcher from September 2011 to December 2015, specializing in electronic design automation for emerging technologies and applications, and also worked as a Visiting Researcher at Stanford University in 2014 focusing on logic synthesis. Prior to these roles, Luca completed a VLSI Design Internship at EPFL's Telecommunication Circuits Laboratory. From September 2014 to June 2019, Luca held multiple positions at Synopsys Inc., culminating in the role of Executive Director of R&D. Luca's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, a Doctor of Philosophy from Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, and master’s degrees from Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino, all achieved with honors.
