Murat Becer

Murat Becer is the Vice President of Research and Development at Synopsys Inc., a position held since July 2025. Prior to this role, Murat served as Vice President and Senior Director of R&D at Ansys from July 2015 to August 2025. Between 2012 and 2015, Murat founded Gear Design Solutions, specializing in Big Data for Chip Design, which was successfully acquired by Ansys. Murat's earlier experience includes a Senior Staff R&D position at Synopsys from July 2009 to July 2012, focusing on PrimeTime R&D, and a Senior Engineer role at CLK Design Automation from 2005 to 2009, where core delay calculation and signal integrity engines were developed. Murat began a career at Motorola/Freescale Semiconductor from 2001 to 2005 as a Senior Staff Engineer, contributing to tools and methodologies for signal integrity closure. Murat holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Boğaziçi University.
