Omid Fatemi

Omid Fatemi is a seasoned digital ASIC designer and educator with over 23 years of experience in computer architecture, IoT, and embedded design. Currently a Staff Engineer at Synopsys Inc, Omid has previously held roles such as a Visiting Professor and Research Associate at the University of Ottawa, leading research in Applied AI and serving as an eLearning Consultant for Coding for Veterans. As a former Edtech Manager and Chief Information Officer at the University of Tehran, Omid guided extensive online learning initiatives and transformed digital educational practices during the Covid-19 pandemic. They co-founded and preside over eCollab, an Edtech company, while also contributing to academia as an Associate Professor, where they supervised over 60 graduate students and established multiple research laboratories. Omid continues to focus on advancing educational technologies and generative AI in their current and future endeavors.
