Richard Steeves

Richard Steeves is a seasoned hardware design professional with extensive experience in the design and development of high-speed communication systems. Currently serving as Hardware Design Manager at Synopsys Inc since April 2025, Richard focuses on prototype design for PCIe systems. Prior to this role, Richard worked as a Senior Hardware Design Engineer at Esperanto Technologies, Inc, where responsibilities included the design and debugging of PCIe and DDR subsystems. Richard's background includes leadership positions at Rohde & Schwarz, where Richard led a team in high-performance RF mixed-signal ASIC development, and roles as a Senior R&D Engineer and Hardware Design Engineer at Synopsys Inc and Rim Semiconductor, respectively. Richard began a professional career at PMC-Sierra (now Microsemi) and interned at Nortel Networks. Richard holds an MSc in Engineering and Technology Management from Portland State University and a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Brunswick.
