Tung-Chieh Chen

Tung-Chieh Chen currently serves as R&D Director at Synopsys Inc since October 2023, bringing a wealth of experience in engineering and research. Prior to this role, Tung-Chieh co-founded Maxeda Technology, where responsibilities included dataflow analysis and various aspects of layout and timing analysis from February 2015 to October 2023. Tung-Chieh also held the position of R&D Manager at Synopsys from November 2012 to January 2015, focusing on schematic-driven layout and analog design prototyping. Earlier, during a tenure at SpringSoft from January 2008 to November 2012, contributions included the development of custom digital placement systems and static timing analysis. Tung-Chieh began a career in academia as a Visiting Scholar at The University of Texas at Austin in 2007, engaging in research on routing congestion and metal density analysis. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from National Taiwan University, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the same institution.
