Weixing Zhou is a seasoned engineer and researcher with extensive experience in numerical simulation and finite element analysis. At the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, from August 2003 to July 2007, Weixing served as a Graduate Research Assistant, focusing on atomic-scale finite element methods and adhesion studies in MEMS devices. Prior to that, at UC San Diego, Weixing worked as a Teaching Assistant, leading lab sections and guiding students in programming skills. A consultancy role at Rockwell Scientific involved developing research code and conducting FEM simulations for membrane optics. Currently, since August 2007, Weixing holds the position of Senior R&D Engineer at Synopsys, specializing in multi-physics simulations for semiconductor manufacturing. Weixing holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, along with a BS in Mechanics from Peking University and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego.
