Brian Abeyta

Brian Abeyta serves as the Director of Business Architecture in the Program Office at Synovus since June 2021, guiding technology delivery for revenue-generating initiatives across commercial banking sectors. A doctoral candidate at Valdosta State University, Brian is working toward a dissertation in Public Administration with expected completion in 2023. Previously, Brian held the position of Vice President at Aflac for nearly 20 years, where accomplishments included establishing a corporate Project Management Office and leading significant project improvements and expansions. Brian's earlier career includes a role as Director of Program Management at BellSouth Telecommunications and serving as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force, overseeing multimillion-dollar projects and managing cross-functional teams. Educational qualifications consist of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology from the United States Air Force Academy, a Master's degree in Systems Management from the Florida Institute of Technology, and ongoing doctoral studies in Public Administration.
