Ivo Smeele

Ivo Smeele has extensive experience in the healthcare sector, currently serving as Chair of the Lifestyle in Healthcare committee at ZonMw and holding multiple advisory roles related to primary care and implementation. Since September 2014, Ivo Smeele has engaged in various capacities at ZonMw, including leadership roles in research grants and initiatives aimed at smoking cessation and effective medication use. Additionally, Ivo Smeele is a member of the Raad van Commissarissen at Syntein and serves as Chair of the Raad van Commissarissen at Mediis. With a long-standing commitment to general practice, Ivo Smeele has been a general practitioner at Gezondheidscentrum Engelsbergen/Zorggroep DOH since 1997 and has also contributed significantly to the Dutch College of General Practitioners (NHG) and the Dutch Hospital Association in various editorial and management capacities. Ivo Smeele holds a medical degree and a PhD in Quality of Care for Asthma and COPD from Radboud University.
