Mark Taylor

Mark Taylor is the principal of SynTerra Corporation and serves as its president, leading a firm of 175 environmental consultants in biology, ecology, wetlands and stream resources, hydrogeology, geochemistry, property transfer services, environmental process engineering, environmental compliance, storm water management, hydrology, wastewater treatment, solid waste management, and civil engineering. They have more than 40 years of experience in natural resource–based industries, including minerals exploration and research, mine geology and mine engineering, hydrogeologic and geotechnical investigations, solid waste management, and regulatory negotiations. They earned a BA in Geochemistry from Harvard University (1973–1977) and an MSc in Geochemistry from the University of Michigan (1979–1981). They serve on the boards of the Upstate SC Red Cross and Upstate Forever, and on the South Carolina Engineering Cluster Steering Committee.
