Senior Vice President Manufacturing at Synthetic Biologics

Andrew Bristol has a diverse range of work experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. Andrew started their career as a Research Associate at Genetics Institute in 1986. Andrew then worked as a Post-doctoral Fellow at NIH from 1994 to 1998. Andrew later joined Genetic Therapy, Inc., a Novartis Company, as a Deputy Director of Immunology from 1998 to 2003.

In 2003, they co-founded Neogenix Oncology, Inc. and served as the SVP-R&D and Co-Founder. Andrew played a crucial role in leading the R&D team and developing antibody-based anti-cancer products. Andrew also contributed to the discovery of biomarker detection in patient blood and the development of diagnostic assays. Moreover, they established collaborations with CROs, CMOs, academic and government partners, and secured private investment capital for the company.

Andrew's most recent position was with Synthetic Biologics, Inc. as the Senior Vice President of Manufacturing. In this role, they were responsible for various development activities, including drug translation, manufacturing oversight, and regulatory submissions. Andrew successfully translated three products and served as a member of the senior management and intellectual property teams.

Throughout their career, Andrew has demonstrated a strong skill set in research and development, product development, collaboration management, and securing funding.

Andrew Bristol has a PhD in Biochemistry from Tufts University Graduate Biomedical Sciences. Prior to that, they obtained a B.A. in Molecular Biology from UC Berkeley. No specific start or end years were provided for their education.
