Ainsley Underhill

Lead Cell Biologist at SyntheX

Ainsley Underhill is a Cell Biologist who joined SyntheX in 2022. Prior to that, they worked at the University of Toronto from 2013 to 2021. During their time at the University of Toronto, they were a Graduate Student where they developed a high-throughput screening pipeline to study the motility and morphology of cancer cells. Ainsley also worked as a Teaching Assistant for a next-generation sequencing course, leading laboratory sessions and overseeing experiments. Before their time at the University of Toronto, Ainsley worked at The University of British Columbia as a Work Study Student and later as a Researcher in 2012.

Ainsley Underhill pursued higher education with a focus in the field of Molecular Genetics. From 2013 to 2021, they attended the University of Toronto, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree. Prior to that, from 2008 to 2012, they studied at The University of British Columbia and earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree, majoring in Honours Biochemistry.
