Simon Bassett

Simon Bassett is an experienced Technical Manager at Synthomer, leading an R&D team focused on new product development for the Alcotex® poly(vinyl alcohol) and poly(vinyl acetate) polymer ranges since October 2020. Prior to this role, Simon served as a Development Manager and Senior Chemist at Synthomer, contributing to both R&D and production scale projects in various team capacities from 2016 to 2020. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Polymer Chemistry and Supercritical Fluids from the University of Nottingham and an MChem in Chemistry from the University of York. Additional research experience includes a role as a Research Fellow at The University of Nottingham, collaborating with The University of Bath on sustainable polymer synthesis methods. Simon began the career as an Industrial Placement Student at Infineum in 2009.
