Handong Ma

Handong Ma has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Handong started their career as a Project Intern at Accenture, where they worked on a supply chain project for Mitsubishi Electric. Handong then joined the Institute of Biostatistics at Fudan University as a Research Associate. Following that, Handong worked as a Senior Web Developer at startup Plorz LLC, where they were responsible for designing and implementing the website architecture. Handong also worked as a Software Engineer at Shanghai Boson Medical & Technology, where they developed a clinical data analysis web application.

Moving on, Handong joined Columbia University in the City of New York as a Research Assistant. There, they worked on several research fields including health information exchange, natural language processing for clinical text, and predictive models for drug side effects. Handong also built a clinical trial data mining pipeline and an online application using various programming languages.

In 2016, Handong co-founded Synyi, a medical technology company based in Shanghai. One year later, they became the CEO of its Beijing branch, Synyi (Beijing) Medical Technology Co., Ltd.

Handong Ma completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Fudan University from 2009 to 2012. Following that, from 2013 to 2015, Ma pursued a Master of Arts degree in Biomedical Informatics at Columbia University in the City of New York. During the same period, Ma also obtained a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. From 2018 to 2021, Ma studied at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Computer Science. In addition to their formal education, Ma obtained several certifications, including "An Introduction to Marketing," "An Introduction to Corporate Finance," "An Introduction to Financial Accounting," "Developing Innovative Ideas for New Companies: The First Step in Entrepreneurship," and "An Introduction to Operations Management" from Coursera Verified Certificates in 2013 and 2014.
