David Whitman has extensive experience in food safety and quality assurance, having served in various capacities within military and corporate environments. They began their career as an Instructor and Writer at the Army Medical Department Center and School, teaching and developing curricula for food safety specialists. Subsequently, David spent over a decade as a Food Safety Officer with the US Army Public Health Command, overseeing food safety programs and conducting audits globally. They later held roles including Consumer Safety Officer for the Defense Commissary Agency and Food Safety Program Manager at Sysco, where they led initiatives to enhance food safety practices. David earned a BS in Food Science, Business, and Technology from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.
