Yongcheng Tai has extensive work experience in the field of mechanical engineering. In 2013, they joined Pelican Industrial Inc. as a Mechanical Engineer, where they designed and built various test systems for CNC machines and provided troubleshooting and repair services. Yongcheng worked at Pelican Industrial Inc. until 2022.

In 2013, Yongcheng also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Cornell University, where they were involved in the design, analysis, and testing of a carbon fiber monocoque for a race car. Yongcheng contributed to the development of an anisotropic optimization method for laminates and published a paper on carbon fiber monocoque chassis design.

Before their role at Cornell University, Yongcheng had an internship at Dayu Heavy-Duty CNC Machine Tools CO., LTD in 2011, and worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Hebei University of Science and Technology from 2010 to 2011. At Hebei University, they participated in the design of an automatic paving machine and contributed to a research paper on asphalt coiled waterproof material.

Yongcheng Tai completed a Bachelor of Science in Machinery Design, Manufacturing and Automation from Hebei University of Science and Technology from 2007 to 2011. Later, from 2012 to 2013, they pursued a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Cornell University.
