Denise Irvine Simmons

Denise Irvine Simmons has worked in the design and legal fields since 1987. Denise began their career as a Senior Paralegal in the Criminal Law division of the Orange County District Attorneys Office. From 1994-1996, they were the Director of Community Relations for the same office. In 1996, they became an Adjunct Faculty at UC Irvine, teaching Post Graduate Advanced Legal Studies. In 2003, they joined Interior Designers Institute as Adjunct Faculty, teaching courses in Environmental and Sustainable Design, Design Theory, Color Theory, Commercial and Residential Lighting Design, and Commercial Interiors Design. In 2005, they worked as an Interior Designer for Impact Interiors, and in 2006 they were an Interior Designer for BBA Architects. In 2007, they joined H. Hendy Associates as an Interior Designer and Project & Technical Coordinator, where they were also a LEED ID+C Accredited Professional. From 2013-2014, they worked at Benchmark R+D as a Project Manager. Lastly, from 2014-present, they have worked at Systems Source, Inc. in various roles, including Creative Design Director, Senior Ancillary Strategist, Design Director, and Account Manager.

Denise Irvine Simmons has a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Architecture and Design from the Interior Designers Institute, a Postgraduate Certification in Legal Research and Advanced Professional Studies from UC Irvine, a Bachelor of Arts - BA in Criminal Justice: Social Sciences from California State University, Fullerton, and a Legal Studies (JD) from Western State College of Law. Denise also holds a LEED AP Interior Design + Construction certification from USGBC Orange County obtained in 2008, as well as a Certified Interior Designer certification from CCIDC, Inc. - California Council for Interior Design Certification obtained in 2013.
