Amy Theofanous

Amy Theofanous has a diverse work experience in the field of polymer chemistry and research and development. Amy started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Sheffield, where they worked on a project involving particles prepared by polymerisation induced self-assembly (PISA) as Pickering emulsifiers. Following this, they worked as a General R&D Assistant at Vesuvius UK, where they gained valuable experience in research and development. Amy then pursued a PhD in Polymer Science at the University of Sheffield, focusing on RAFT aqueous emulsion polymerisation.

After completing their PhD, Amy joined CooperVision as a Scientist, where they contributed to the improvement of existing contact lens products through the application of their polymer chemistry expertise. In this role, they collaborated with various teams and departments to optimize formulations and introduce new ingredients. Amy's latest position was at T H E U N S E E N, where they held the roles of Materials Scientist - Polymer Chemist, R&D Manager, and eventually Senior R&D Manager. In these positions, they managed R&D innovation projects, identified new material and ingredient innovations for the cosmetic and hair makeup sector, and established relationships with third-party material owners, innovators, start-ups, and academics.

Amy Theofanous completed their Master of Chemistry degree at The University of Sheffield from 2009 to 2013. Prior to that, they obtained their A Levels from The College of Richard Collyer, specializing in Chemistry, Maths, Biology, and Italian from 2007 to 2009.
