Bala Sivakumar

Bala Sivakumar, PE has extensive work experience in the field of bridge design and construction. Bala is currently working as the Vice President and Bridge Line of Business Director, East Region at T.Y. Lin International since November 2019. Prior to that, they held the position of Vice President, National Practice Consultant and Northeast Division Bridge Design Lead at HNTB Corporation from June 2008 to November 2019. Bala was recognized as one of the top experts on alternative bridge design and construction in the U.S. during their tenure at HNTB. Before joining HNTB, Bala worked as the Chief Engineer at Lichtenstein Consulting Engineers from 1983 to 2008.

Bala Sivakumar, PE holds a Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering from Cornell University. Bala also obtained their Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Bala has additional certifications as a Professional Engineer, granted by the states of New York, New Jersey, Texas, Oregon, and Wisconsin.
