Ernie also served as the Chief Operating Officer at The Maine Real Estate Network, a leading residential real estate firm in Maine. During their tenure, the company experienced significant growth and achieved high sales volume, resulting in a successful sale in 2018.
Prior to that, Ernie was the President and Owner of Coldwell Banker Harnden Beecher, another successful residential real estate firm in Maine. The company consistently held the top position in its markets and was recognized as the #1 company for Coldwell Banker in Maine for ten consecutive years.
Ernie's early career includes various roles at Procter & Gamble, notably as an Executive Assistant, Key Account Sales Manager, Manufacturing Controller Manager, Divisional Finance Manager, and as part of the Management Development Program.

Ernie Whitehouse completed their education with a Diploma in Honors from Christchurch School in 1971. Ernie then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Marketing & Finance from Babson College, graduating in 1974. Ernie continued their education at Babson College and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Finance, completing their degree in 1976.
