Ryan's passion around technology, global ecosystems, and building new companies fuels his drive for excellence. He enjoys working with founders and senior executives to build companies from concept to acquisition. His deep technical understanding allows him to translate business<>technology and fluidly operate strategically between multiple business functions and his expertise lies in defining and positioning winning products and services with a global reach.
Prior to founding Tabard Advisory Group, he led new product and R&D program management teams at DigitalGlobe prior to and after the 2009 IPO on the NYSE. He also worked at Booz|Allen|Hamilton as an chief technologist, engagement manager, proposal lead, and client delivery lead for five years. During his time as a consultant, his regional span included Washington, DC, Denver, and Asia and ranged from national security to anti-money-laundering engagements before moving to Fidelity Labs.
During the last 7 years at Fidelity, he built and led the Global Innovation Ecosystem Practice within Fidelity Labs, Fidelity Investment's innovation catalyst. As a team of nine, this global practice provides early warning indications for innovation opportunities and market disruptions ranging from IT infrastructure to new business models.
Ryan graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a B.S. in Mathematical Economics with an emphasis on Systems Engineering. He also graduated from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University with a MA in Law and Diplomacy focusing on international Finance, Trade, and European policy. His prior global postings included Germany, Austria, and South Korea, and he is multi-lingual with a strong command of German, and conversational Polish, Korean, Norwegian, and Spanish.
