Ahlmahz Negash

Ahlmahz Negash, PhD, is a seasoned energy strategy and planning consultant currently serving as Principal at NCS since December 2022. With extensive experience at Tacoma Power, where Ahlmahz progressed from Power Analyst to Principal Data Analyst, Ahlmahz also holds a council member position at the GridWise Architecture Council until February 2025. Additionally, Ahlmahz is the Executive Producer for Public Power Underground through September 2024. Prior research roles include visiting research fellow at NTNU, graduate researcher positions at EMI Consulting and Snohomish County PUD, as well as an internship at NEC Laboratories America, Inc. Ahlmahz completed a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington and holds a certificate in Financing and Deploying Clean Energy from Yale University.
