John Hargis

John Hargis is an experienced professional with a diverse background in digital media instruction, audio coordination, and music education. Currently serving as a Digital Media Instructor at Tacoma Public Library System since October 2013, John contributes to the mission of enhancing patrons' digital media skills through a specialized lab funded by the Paul Allen Foundation. Previously, John worked as an Acoustic Specialist at Tahoma Unitarian Universalist Congregation, providing audio training and managing volunteer sound system operations. As a Private Instructor at Federal Way School of Music, John dedicated efforts to delivering high-quality music education. Additional roles include Pit Orchestra Director for Peninsula High School Drum Line and technical positions at Tacoma Public Utilities and City of Tacoma. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Sonoma State University and a Specialist Certificate in Music Recording and Production from Berklee College of Music.
