Richard Coley has worked in a variety of roles since 2006. Richard started as a Sound Design Student at the North Carolina School of the Arts, where they learned about the many aspects of the theatrical production process. Richard then moved on to become an Independent Contractor at WorxAudio Technologies Inc., where they were responsible for producing Technical Manuals, Technical CAD drawings of prototypes, EASE Loudspeaker GLL and EASE reports, testing and verification of Loudspeakers, Loudspeaker components, and Prototype Loudspeakers, as well as design and development of Loudspeakers, Amplifiers, and Amplifier GUI. In 2011, they began working as a Jr. Audio / Video Systems Designer and Engineer at Strategic Connections, Inc., where their duties included designing and engineering audio, video, and control systems, producing technical CAD drawings for the installation of audio, video, and control systems, and project management of installed audio and video systems. In 2015, they became an Associate at Cerami & Associates, Inc. and an IRB Board Community Board Member at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. From 2016 to 2020, they worked at Jaros, Baum & Bolles in various roles, including Associate, Senior Project Manager, Senior Designer, and Designer. In 2020, they returned to TAD as a Project Manager, and they are currently still employed there.
Richard Coley obtained their BFA in Sound Design from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts between 2006 and 2010. In 2010, they obtained their Matrix3 and SIM3 certifications from Meyer Sound Laboratories Inc. In 2012, they obtained their MediaMatrix NWare Level 1 certification from Peavey Electronics Corp. In 2017, they obtained their CTS certification from AVIXA after completing the Comprehensive System Design and Implementation Course.
