Shabnam Sharifi, MSW, ASW, has extensive experience in social work and mental health, currently serving as a Social Worker at Tahirih Justice Center since May 2022. Previous roles include Mental Health Therapist at WestCoast Children's Clinic, where work involved diagnosing and providing psychotherapy for foster youth, and as a STAT Support Counselor, delivering trauma-informed care. Shabnam has also interned as a Medical Social Worker at Highland Hospital and San Leandro Hospital, focusing on patient care and psychosocial evaluations. Earlier experience includes case management at North Beach Citizens, teaching roles at BlueSkies for Children and San Jose State University, and serving as a Research and Social Action Fellow at College of Alameda. Shabnam holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work, with a concentration in Children, Youth, and Families, and a Bachelor of Arts in Child & Adolescent Development from San Jose State University.
