Emma Start

Emma Start is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in intellectual property management and compliance, currently serving as the Director of Intellectual Property at Taiga Motors since November 2020. At Taiga Motors, Emma established an IP department, developed patent searching and docketing systems, and created a substantial portfolio of over 140 patent assets related to electric powersports. Previously, Emma held roles as Head of Product Compliance, achieving significant certifications for innovative products, and as Senior Patent Agent at Immersion Corporation, focusing on haptic technology patents. Additional experience includes managing a patent group at Bombardier Aerospace and serving as a Patent Agent at Smart & Biggar. Emma holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University.
