Layne Raczy

Layne Raczy is an Associate Mechanical Design Engineer at TAIT since May 2025, with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University, expected in May 2025. Prior experience includes serving as a Design Labs Master Tech Fellow and Design Labs Tech Fellow at Lehigh University, overseeing heavy machinery use and ensuring safety for lab users. As a Mountaintop Research Fellow, Layne focused on underwater robotics research, justifying its impact and seeking funding. Additionally, Layne led the Mechanical Team at Lehigh Underwater Robotics, managing the design and construction of an autonomous underwater vehicle. Earlier roles include Digital Archivist/Archival Researcher and Construction Worker, demonstrating a versatile skill set in engineering, project management, and effective communication.
