Tom Larkworthy

Tom Larkworthy has had a varied and successful career. Tom began their professional life in 2005 as a Robotics Researcher at Edinburgh University. In 2009, they became an Enterprise Fellow at Scottish Enterprise. In 2010, they were a Founder and CEO at Spectral Robotics and a Member at Edinburgh Hacklab. From 2012-2014, they were a Post Doc at Heriot-Watt University. From 2014-2019, they worked at Google as a Senior Software Engineer, Core Developer, SWE, and Contractor. In 2021, they were a Founder. Currently, they are a Technical Lead and Software Engineer at Taktile, beginning in 2022.

Tom Larkworthy has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from The University of Edinburgh, which they obtained from 2006 to 2009. Tom also has an MEng in Computer Software Engineering from Aberystwyth University, which they obtained from 2000 to 2005. Tom has also attended the MIT Sloan School of Management and Imperial College London, but has not earned any additional certifications.
