Richard Amar is a highly qualified medical professional with extensive experience in psychiatry and addiction treatment. Currently serving as the Medical Director and Staff Physician (Addiction Psychiatrist) at Talbott Recovery Campus since December 2011, Richard is board-certified in addiction psychiatry and general psychiatry and is also a certified Medical Review Officer. In addition, Richard holds the position of Assistant Clinical Professor at Emory University School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences since July 2003. Prior to this role, Richard worked as a Staff Psychiatrist and Medical Director for substance abuse programs at Atlanta VA Medical Center from December 2003 to December 2011. Richard’s educational background includes an MD from MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine and a BS in Biology and Music from William & Mary.
